Biography

Yolande Cornelia "Nikki" Giovanni Jr. was born on June 7, 1943, in Knoxville, Tennessee. Giovanni was born to the parents of Yolande Cornelia Giovanni and  Jones "Gus" Giovanni. The family later moved to Cincinnati, Ohio were both parents worked as houseparents at a home for house. Giovanni is currently working at Virginia Tech University "Home of the Hokies."
